Some Things Never Change: John Wayne’s Hard-Earned Wisdom On Liberals From Nearly 40 Years Ago
"Here’s Wayne’s take on those who lean left all the way back in the Ford presidency: 'They never listen to your point of view, and they make a decision as to what you think, and they’re articulate enough and in control of enough of the press to force that image out for the average person.'” - TheBlaze

"People in the White House and in HHS felt there is such massive opposition from the Republicans that they did not want to say, you know, we need to slow down a little bit because we don't have the technology in order." -Juan Williams
"Tuesday night's Fox News Special Report with Bret Baier featured [cough] an 'All-Star Panel' discussion of the technological issues surrounding the introduction of Healthcare.gov.
One question raised was whether the White House realized the site had technical issues before it went live on October 1. Fox's Juan Williams opined that the White House must have known the site had major flaws but kept it secret for political reasons. Williams condoned the lack of transparency by saying it was necessary due to the harsh criticism of Obamacare coming from Republicans. Williams' approval led to a heated debate between him and The Weekly Standard's Stephen Hayes.
"Democratic Rep. Alan Grayson, [supported for reelection by Obama], who is known for lobbing over-the-top rhetorical bombs at his political foes, once again is being accused of taking things too far -- after his campaign sent an email that compared the Tea Party to the Ku Klux Klan while depicting a burning cross.
The email showed a large image of the flaming cross, with the letters 'ea Party' etched in to the right of it. The caption read: 'Now You Know What the 'T' Stands For.'
The email included 'pointed analysis' from Grayson in which he said, 'The Tea Party is no more popular than the Klan,' blasting the conservative organization for its role in the showdown that resulted in the two-week partial government shutdown.
Republicans on Tuesday accused the Florida congressman of stepping - way - over the line." . . . Read More

3. Religion Bashing Lady Gaga Invited By ABC To Shoot Holiday Special With The Muppets
"To kick off the Christmas season, Lady Gaga will co-host a 90 minute “Holiday Spectacular” on Thanksgiving night with the Muppets for the progressives at ABC." - Breitbart
"The real incongruity is Lady Gaga celebrating the holiday season. This is the same star who made a Judas music video in 2011 in which the 12 disciples ride down the highway on motorcycles and Mary Magdalene ends up being stoned to death by the public. She claimed, 'I believe I was put on this earth to cause a ruckus.'
Her video Alejandro shows her wearing a robe with an inverted cross printed on it in many places, and another shot of her uterus decorated with an inverted cross. She also swallows a rosary." . . . Read More

4. Snowden Disputes Feinstein Claim That NSA Spying Isn't 'Surveillance'
"National Security Agency leaker Edward Snowden on Thursday disputed Sen. Dianne Feinstein's (D-Calif.) claim that the government's phone record collection program is not 'surveillance.'" - TheHill
"'Today, no telephone in America makes a call without leaving a record with the NSA. Today, no Internet transaction enters or leaves America without passing through the NSA's hands,' Snowden said in a statement Thursday. 'Our representatives in Congress tell us this is not surveillance. They're wrong.'

5. OMG, Not Again! Obama’s Department Of Homeland Security Pick Is A Major Democratic Donor
"President Obama's newly nominated pick to lead the sprawling Department of Homeland Security is a major Democratic donor who used to work with the president's 2008 campaign, leading one senator to call the choice 'deeply concerning.'" -FOXNews
"The president nominated former Pentagon lawyer Jeh Johnson on Friday afternoon. Obama described Johnson as a tested leader with deep experience in the top tiers of government, with a vital focus on national security. 'Jeh has a deep understanding of the threats and challenges facing the United States,' he said.
The White House touted Johnson's experience, as general counsel at the Defense Department during the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan. A White House official called Johnson 'one the most highly qualified and respected national security leaders.' He served during Obama's first term.
In brief remarks from the Rose Garden, Johnson said he is committed to 'safeguarding our nation's national and homeland security.' But his background, aside from being a trusted legal adviser helping oversee those two wars, is also that of a big-money Democratic donor." . . . Read More

6. 'Offensive' Halloween Costumes Banned By U.S. University
"University of Colorado Boulder tells students to avoid costumes including cowboys, indians, white trash or anything potentially deemed offensive." -TheTelegraph
"Christina Gonzales, the dean of students, wrote: 'Making the choice to dress up as someone from another culture, either with the intention of being humorous or without the intention of being disrespectful, can lead to inaccurate and hurtful portrayals of other people's cultures.'
People have also chosen costumes that portray particular cultural identities as overly sexualized, such as geishas, 'squaws,' or stereotypical, such as cowboys and Indians. Additionally some students have hosted offensively-themed parties that reinforce negative representations of cultures as being associated with poverty ('ghetto' or 'white trash/hillbilly'), crime or sex work. A university spokesman called cowboy costumes a 'crude stereotype.'
Students at the University of Minnesota-Twin Cities have also been asked to make sure their Halloween costumes are politically correct." . . . Read More

8. Progressives At Washington Post Backs EPA Coal Regulations
"But guess how Washington D.C. gets it's electricity. Coal!" -Wikipedia
Give them windmills! Editorial Board of the Washington Post wants Obama to go around the Constitution, not happy the people's representatives don't buy into this Al Gore carbon crap. -Webmaster
"The [Politically Correct] Washington Post editorial board has come out in support of the Obama administration’s carbon dioxide emissions caps, which effectively ban new coal-fired power plants.
In the absence of congressional action, the EPA’s approach — interpreting the confusing text of the Clean Air Act in light of its overriding purpose to combat threatening air pollution —- is the right one,” the Post’s editorial board writes.
Congress has largely failed to act on the president’s wishes to pass limits on U.S. carbon emissions, which scientists and environmentalists say cause global warming. Since the failure of cap-and-trade during Obama’s first term, Congress has been reluctant to take up the issue in any meaningful way. Without congressional action, the Post argues, the Obama administration must act alone in combating global warming through the regulatory system.
'The overriding problem is that Congress hasn’t faced up to the global-warming threat. Instead of updating clean air rules and building a policy that addresses the unique challenge of greenhouse emissions, it has left the EPA and the courts with a strong but sometimes ambiguous law that applies imperfectly to greenhouse emissions,' the [Progressive] Post added." . . . 9. Shocking Admission On Army Preparedness: No Training The Last Six Months
"While the president of the United States pitched his crumbling healthcare program like a late-night infomercial barker, the Army's chief of staff made a shocking admission about national defense." -Investors.com
"Gen. Ray Odierno told a Washington conference Monday that the U.S. Army had not conducted any training in the last six months of the fiscal year ending Sept. 30. And, he said, there currently are only two Army brigades rated combat-ready. That's a total of between 7,000 to 10,000 troops and less than one-third what the combat veteran regards as necessary for proper national security.
'Right now,' Odierno said, 'we have in the Army two brigades that are trained. That's it. Two.'
Odierno also revealed that troops shipping out to Afghanistan now are prepared only to train and assist Afghan troops, not to conduct combat operations themselves. But, of course, there's no guarantee the Americans won't find themselves in combat while accompanying Afghan soldiers.
All this to obey Obama administration orders to drastically cut the Army and military spending and meet cuts under sequestration. Since the Obama Pentagon began the troop draw-down two years ago under the president's orders, more than 33,000 active duty soldiers have been cut." . . . Read More

10. Democrats Just Love Failure, As Long As It's A Progressive Doing It
"President Barack Obama is opening a six-week burst of fundraising for Democrats, offering an early look at how he'll frame the messy health overhaul rollout and recent government shutdown for donors and voters ahead of next year's pivotal midterm elections." - Breitbart
"After putting political events on hold for about a month, Obama will return to campaign mode Friday in New York, where he'll speak at a top-dollar fundraiser for House Democrats, flanked by film producer Harvey Weinstein and prominent CEOs. He'll then head to another, closed-door fundraiser benefiting the national Democratic Party before returning to Washington.
Earlier Friday, Obama will visit a Brooklyn high school to showcase a rare partnership between public schools, a public university system and IBM that lets students finish high school with an associate's degree in computers or engineering.
His fundraising schedule condensed, Obama will headline at least nine fundraisers before the end of November for Democratic campaign committees. Michelle Obama and Vice President Joe Biden are holding their own events. Obama's spree will take him away from Washington more than a half-dozen times, from Florida to Texas to California.
Traditionally, the president is a party's most potent fundraising tool, and the effort isn't without potential reward for Obama. A return of Congress to full Democratic control next year would open the door to sweeping policies Obama would love to enact, but Republicans refuse to consider." . . . Read More
