How many times have you heard someone say that they didn’t realize how much they appreciated something after having lost it?
Ask a person sitting in a jail or prison cell, about the freedoms they lost when they committed their crimes, were caught, tried and sentenced. They no longer have the freedom to go and do what they want. Their lives are controlled by others. What they eat is controlled by others. Even their ability to communicate with loved ones is controlled by others.
Now imagine a whole country of people that live like prisoners with the government controlling every aspect of their lives. That’s what life is like when a nation of people loses their freedoms. They often don’t realize what’s happened to them until it’s too late.
One of those freedoms that we Americans hold so dear is the freedom to own and bear firearms, given to us by the Second Amendment of the United States Constitution. The battle to preserve that freedom is being waged not only in Washington DC, but in many states throughout the land, including Oregon." . . . Read More

2. Highway Patrol Gave Feds Missouri Weapon Permits Data
List was sent out two times.
"Missouri's database of concealed weapon permits was twice given to federal authorities investigating Social Security disability fraud in a move that has enraged lawmakers already angry over potential abuses in a new driver's licensing system. Missouri State Highway Patrol Col. Ron Replogle was questioned for nearly an hour this morning by the Senate Appropriations Committee after he revealed to Chairman Kurt Schaefer yesterday that his agency had turned over the data.
The delivery of the information to federal authorities has become a huge issue for lawmakers since they began raising questions about new driver's licensing procedures. A lawsuit from Stoddard County challenged the procedures that require all supporting documents — including certificates granting concealed weapon privileges — to be scanned and retained.". . . Maryland Democratic Governor Martin O’Malley has instituted a tax on citizens for the amount of rain that falls on their property.
"The tax, officially known as a 'storm water management fee,' will be enforced in nine of the state's counties. The state legislature passed it in 2012 purportedly to "raise revenue to cleanup [sic] the Chesapeake Bay," according to MarylandReporter.com.
Former 2012 GOP U.S. Senate candidate Dan Bongino bashes the tax in a Wednesday afternoon press release. The law "requires individuals, businesses, and even charitable organizations and houses of worship to pay a tax based on the amount of rain that falls on their property and the 'impervious surfaces' on their land," he says.
The tax, mandated by the EPA and enforced locally, will be calculated 'through satellite surveillance of your property,' the statement claims." . . . Read More

A Michigan high school issued an apology to former U.S. Senator Rick Santorum after they canceled an upcoming speech because teachers were outraged over his support for traditional marriage.
"Langston Bowens, 18, the president of the YAF chapter, told Fox News that he was not surprised by the campus outrage.
'They flooded my principal’s office and complained about how this bigoted, racist homophobic speaker was going to come to our school,' he said. 'They were very offended. They threatened protests. They threatened not to show up to work – because he’s a conservative.'
Bowens said the young conservative student worked hard to raise the money to bring Santorum to campus and the school’s principal actually signed off on the address. It was the superintendent, he said, that pulled the plug." . . . Read More

"Neurosurgeon Ben Carson announced his withdrawal as speaker at the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine commencement Wednesday.
In an e-mail to Paul Rothman, the dean of the Baltimore-based medical school, Carson, a retiring Hopkins surgeon, explained that his speaking at commencement would be a distraction, given his recent statements in support of traditional marriage.
'Given all the national media surrounding my statements as to my belief in traditional marriage, I believe it would be in the best interests of the students for me to voluntarily withdraw as your commencement speaker this year,' Carson wrote in an email, quoted at CNN. 'My presence is likely to distract from the true celebratory nature of the day. Commencement is about the students and their successes, and it is not about me. 7. Former Gosnell Employee Testifies That Problem Abortion "Really Freaked Me Out."
"There was this clear glass pan, and I saw it, and I thought, 'What do you expect me to do?' " West testified Monday at Gosnell's murder trial.
"'It wasn't fully developed,' West told the Common Pleas Court jury, referring to the 18- to 24-inch-long newborn in the pan. It didn't have eyes or a mouth but it was like screeching, making this noise. It was weird. It sounded like a little alien.'
Questioned by Assistant District Attorney Joanne Pescatore, West, 53, said she did not know what happened to the 'specimen' - the term she said she used because "it was easier to deal with mentally.'
'It really freaked me out, and I said call Dr. Gosnell, and I went back out front,' West added.
