No Nativity Scene?

Jim, of New Jersey, reported in a recent e-mail that he heard there will be no Nativity Scene in the United State Congress this year. The courts had held earlier there cannot be a Nativity Scene in the U.S. Capital when equal opportunity for all the roles was not available.

As you can see from this ruling, it isn't for any religious reason, but simply based on the fact that they have not been able to find three wise men or a single virgin in the nation's capitol. There were reports, however, there was no difficulty in finding enough asses to fill the stable.

Overview of 2007 Christmas Clashes

The 3-sided sign was erected in the Town of Vernon's Central Park on Dec. 1 by the Connecticut Valley Atheists. The two sides facing Main Street feature a pre-attack image of the Twin Towers with the sun shining between them and the message, "Imagine no religion," drawn from the John Lennon anthem, "Imagine."

'Imagine no religion,' says atheists' display

Connecticut atheists, taking advantage of a town's policy of allowingholiday-season displays in its public park, have erected a 10-foot tall sign in celebration of the winter solstice that includes a message blaming the attacks of Sept. 11, 2001, on religious believers . . . read more - December 2007

U.S. House Passes Resolution Supporting Christmas and Christianity

The nine members who voted against the Christmas Resolution were all Democrats: Ackerman (NY), Clarke (NY), DeGette (CO), Hastings (FL), Lee (CA), McDermott (WA), Scott (VA), Stark (CA) and Woolsey (CA). The 10 who answered “present” without entering a vote were also Democrats except one: Conyers (MI), Frank (MA), Holt (NJ), Payne (NJ), Pence (Republican from IN), Schakowsky (PA), Schwartz (PA), Wasserman-Schultz (FL), Welch (VT) and Yarmuth (KY).

And all but two of the representatives who answered "present" or voted against the Christmas resolution voted in favor of a resolution recognizing Ramadan, which passed by a 376-0 vote in October. Sears with its K-Mart Brand "dis" Christians

Their corporate heads say they want to avoid offending other religions . . . that their culture of diversity is offended by the word "Christmas."

Letter sent to Sears December 2007

What a bombshell to read around December 7, 2007, via Liberty Counsel's Web site about secular executives at Sears no longer calling advertised trees as Christmas Trees, but instead generically referred to as "Holiday Trees:"

The reason for our use of holiday tree is due to the [sic] Sears Holding is a very diverse company, we do not want to offend any of our associates, but also our valued customers. We decided to call them holiday trees because even if Christians are the only religion that uses a Christmas tree we still do not want complaints from other customers of different religions complaining about our use of Christmas.

So is Sears going to call those Jewish candle holder "Holiday Candle holders," too?

This is America where free speech is protected.  What doesn't Sears get about that?  What cowards in suits. While this family buys little from Sears and K-mart already, that will now drop to zero.  Sears has taken a simple and innocent Christmas Tree and decided to rename it on their own because someone might complain or be offended.  Be offended at what?

I'm tired of people such as the Secular Jews who have chosen to cross the line to become members of the ACLU, using that organization to sue Christians and harass cowardly corporations like Sears.  Is Sears even aware that Rabbis have literally come out with news releases begging Jewish people to stop suing Christians via the ACLU?

Yea, it's that bad from those folks, who complain about the bigotry of the Holocaust, now involved in their own ethnic cleansing using corporations like Sears and K-Mart to do their dirty work.

Oh, by the way.  Amazon doesn't give a damn, wishing a Merry Christmas on its site by calling its decorative trees, Christmas Trees, since that is the reason for the season to be rewarded by sales.  Guess where we buy most of my products today?

"Run away Sears as fast as you can from the battle!  But be sure not to compare yourself with those who gave their lives to start this country and its freedoms.  You would have stabbed them in the back. too."

Merry Christmas!

Communists secularized Christmas for one reason . . . to get rid of it!

In an effort to resist Christians, Communist leaders secularized a favorite Ukrainian Christmas carol, "Nova Radist Stala" (Joyous News Has Come to Us.)

The original song began with these words: "The joyous news has come which never was before. Over a cave above a manger a bright star has lit the world, where Jesus was born from a virgin maiden, . . . "

At first the Communists feared an outright ban on Christmas, so they began to secularize the holiday. The first rewrite of the song began as follows: "The joyous news has come which never was before, a red star with five tails has brightly lit the world."

The second rewrite went further: "The joyous news has come which never was before. Long-awaited star of freedom lit the skies in October [the month of the Revolution]. Where formerly lived the kings and had the roots their nobles, there today with simple folks, Lenin's glory hovers." . . . read more

Lowe's Apologizes for 'Family Trees' in Christmas Catalog

. . . We refer to them as Christmas trees in all of our television and magazine ads and also in our advertising fliers," she added. "We take this situation very seriously and are redoubling our efforts to proofread those catalogs in the future."

Cybercast News Service has documented several examples of what some call the "War on Christmas," the earliest of which were reported in 2000.

The following year, a New York City school was accused of religious discrimination during the holiday season for allowing the display of Islamic and Jewish symbols, but not Christian symbols, while Arizona Attorney General Janet Napolitano banned Santa Claus displays and other religious symbols on public property.

In 2002, a handful of Massachusetts high school students wanted to give their classmates a small Christmas gift before holiday break, but their religious-themed candy canes instead erupted into a controversy.

A Christian church in Fort Lauderdale was allowed to put up a holiday display claiming that "Jesus Is the Reason for the Season," but it took a court battle for the church to get its message out in 2003, the same year two Palm Beach, Fla., residents sued the town for refusing to allow the display of Christian Nativity scenes on public property alongside displays of the Jewish Menorah.

Christians saw Christmas under a politically correct attack in Australia during 2004, and environmentalists stumped for a treeless Christmas a year later.

But last year, Christian groups claimed they were witnessing a shift in momentum in the "War on Christmas," even though a Christmas-themed event at a public elementary school was changed because parents claimed it illegally spotlighted a "religious" figure - Santa Claus . . . read more

Santa told to slim down for Christmas in UK to 'set a good example' - December 2007

In America, the Atheists need to leave Santa alone and stick it to telling instead AL Gore, Michael Moore, and Rosey to slim down, which of course they will never to their own. Leave Santa Claus alone, pinheads (oops, that's hate speech in Nazi land. Is it the same for you dudes in the UK?)

Did these nut jobs forget that the jolly man in the red suit was chubby and then fat for almost a century WHEN ALL THE WORLD WAS SLIM? That is until they told our kids to stop playing Dodge Ball and having recess. Of course in the name of freedom they approved of all those violent video games that keep kids and adults inside with only their fingers doing the walking.

So all of those who want a politically correct Santa, go stick it where the sun don't shine. Stop trying to control everything around us from what people eat to how they celebrate THEIR holidays. First the PC thought police screw up the world and then run around saying the sky is falling, such as with global warming, threatening to take away jobs from those who disagree. They even made the color green into a PC fad as if it was a Hoola Hoop. And you thought the Nazis were assigned only to WWII Germany.

Oh gee whiz, I'm stepping on Al Gore's mission statement and all his friends at NBC News . . . you know the ones eating up those carbon units while standing live in the Arctic as they use Monday Night Football to promote their agenda hosted by none other than Matt Liar.

At least many of us don't have to say Mr. President. - Webmaster
