3.) Woman Sues Planet Fitness For Booting Her After Transgender Complaint
"After getting her gym membership revoked for complaining to management and other members about a transgender man in the women's locker room, Yvette Cormier has filed a lawsuit against Planet Fitness.
As TruthRevolt reported earlier this month, Cormier, 48, said she walked into the women's locker room on March 7 and was 'stunned and shocked' to find a man in makeup and a wig. Calling the situation 'unprofessional" and 'scary,' Cormier complained to the front desk but was told the man was allowed in the locker room 'because that's the sex he wants to be.' Cormier explained that she understands that people can 'identify' as the opposite gender, but was 'caught off guard' because he clearly looked like a man.
'He looked like a man. He did not look like a woman,' Cormier said. 'This is very unprofessional. This is very scary.'
Cormier also complained that Planet Fitness failed to notify her of this potential scenario and believes other women should know about the policy before they decide to join.
'That should be something they pointed out when I signed up,' Cormier said. 'If you have male parts you don’t need to be in the women’s locker room. "'Colorado State Patrol Sgt. Justin Mullins said the department usually struggles to fill trooper positions in less populous corners of the state, including patrol sectors high up in the mountains. He said immigrants from Canada, the Bahamas, the United Kingdom, Mexico and Central America who are willing to live in those remote places have helped the agency fill those vacancies.
'People that want to live there and build a family there and work there is a little more difficult to find,' Mullins said. 'People moving from out of state, or out of the country, if they're willing to work in these areas, then that's great for us.'
Other agencies, like the Cincinnati Police Department and the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department, require that officers at least have a pending citizenship application on file with the federal government. And others, like the Burlington, Vt., and Boulder, Colo., police departments, require that officers be legal permanent residents, or green-card holders.
